Function
The oil is mostly used in the fragrance industry. The root and stem of the plant are used in Chinese medicine. The name cubeba is given to this plant because the small round fruits resemble those on the climbing shrub piper cubeba, a native plant of Java. You may also see Litsea cubeba under the names May Chang or mountain pepper.
